help put Story of a Girl in the hands of eager readers

Nancy Werlin was kind enough to alert me to this proposal at Donors Choose, in which a teacher is requesting money for an eighth grade book club at a low-income (“high poverty”) school in Connecticut.  Story of a Girl is among the titles they are eager for, but there are others, too. I’m going to try to get a couple of copies to them myself. The cool thing about Donors Choose is that you can give as little as a dollar to help out. And, all donations are tax-deductible! So if you donate by tomorrow that counts for your 2008 taxes. Awesome.

In other news, I’m thinking about 2009. Like, what I have to accomplish, what I want to accomplish, things I want to do differently. I’m looking forward to being inspired by all the new year’s blog posts y’all will be doing later this week!

Donors Choose is great. A few of my colleagues have placed proposals on their site. A great way to get help and offer help as well. I like the idea that your donations go straight to the teachers for exactly what they need. I hope their book club is a success.
