FYI
- RED the Book: The Videos. There is now a special YouTube channel with the young women of RED reading their essays. I’ve said this before, but if you write for, live with, teach, or have ever been a teen you should have this book in your collection.
- The Queens Library Teen Book Slam interviewed me for the blog, here.
- I have had far too many dairy products today.
- Life Goes On is available on DVD and is now in my Netflix queue. There’s something about that show for me that probably has more to do with what was going on in my life when it ran than the show. I now know I had pretty major undiagnosed and untreated depression, and my compulsive eating was getting really bad (and even if you’re not clinically depressed there is something depressing about Sunday nights) and I remember sitting in my bedroom at my parents’ house (I was in college but living at home) and watching it on this little black and white TV I would prop up on my desk chair and watch from the bed and I’d eat, and dread Monday, and hear the little Life Goes Onincidental music lead-in and feel absolutely buried. Oh, Corky. (And for some reason now I want to relive it?) (And also: Overshare!) (And – fun fact related to France…in France Life Goes On was called Corky, a child unlike any other.)

- But I don’t really remember that older sister chick. Hmm.
- See you on Monday!
