book party report – let the heart cookie throwdown begin

Many thanks to all who came out on a Friday night in winter for the Sweethearts party! The night was great fun, and King’s English Jenn did a fantastic job with the heart cookies—without the aid of a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Yes, these are freehand hearts! See for yourself:

It was hard to wait until my reading was done to have one, but I managed…

Now, I’m not one to start rivalries or anything, but I don’t know if Books Inc. Jenn in SF or the folks at Changing Hands can beat King’s English Jenn’s cookie execution, if they even choose to attempt it. Perhaps there should be a prize for the best Sweethearts cover cookie reenactment? Only, what would that prize be? “A free book” is hardly anything unique for a bookseller. I’ll have to think about that.

A few of the lovely ladies from jobjob…

Somehow I managed not to get very many pictures on my camera, but more should be forthcoming from other sources. There was a nice little crowd, including SIX—count them, SIX!—actual teenagers, three of whom had no connection to me or my husband and came completely based on the KE publicity, which is awesome.

Thanks again to everyone who helped make it a great night! Enjoy your weekend (Go…Giants?) – see you back here on Monday.

It was a totally fun night with great cookies. I encourage anyone to go to one of Sara’s readings. She did a fantastic job and even talked a lot about the editing process, which was a really eye-opening experience for me.
