After a couple of minor travel snafus, I got here with just enough time to change for dinner and then it was down to the lobby to meet Sherman, our editor, Jennifer, and our publicists, Lisa and Ames. We walked over to the dinner place and joined more of the Little, Brown Books for Young Readers folk for a fabulous meal and hysterical conversation and I’m back in time to catch the second half of Monday Night Football with the Niners and Seahawks. Does life get any better? Okay, maybe if the Niners had more than 0 points halfway through the 3rd quarter, life would be better.

I know I should go to bed but I’m still on Utah time. Tomorrow is a big day with little time to stop and think, so I should be stopping and thinking now. Who wants to stop and think when there is football (and on a screen twice the size of my TV at home)? Not me.

Am I the only person who loves to sit down and read the little hotel room binder cover to cover? It’s not like I’m going to have my laundry done (one item at a time, apparently…socks, $3.50, printed T-shirt, $9.00), or call the hotel operator for a referral to a dentist, but I could.
