My last few posts were pretty long. No one reading blogs from work really has time for that, right? So here is a very short recap of the weekend:
Finished Fingersmith, made a pot of Anasazi beans. Music and Lyrics was not nearly as good as it could have been. (Hey, IMDB changed its format. I hate change!) Breach was almost like a two-character stage play, so if you’re expecting action, don’t. Good, though. Of course, Chris Cooper is good in everything—I’ve known it ever since seeing him in Matewan back in the day and basically every other John Sayles film. What else…there were Lifetime movies, more Tyrell (but not all of it), some walks, and a headache.
The weekend concluded with an e-mail tonight from my friend Keith Dixon announcing that his second novel, The Art of Losing (St. Martin’s Press), is now available. It has gambling, horses, and “a descent into darkness that can only end in calamity.” (Booklist) YES! You know how I love a good tragedy! I’m working on getting him here for a Q&A, so pick up the book, read it, and we can all discuss. Hope everyone had a fab holiday.

Oh, I liked Music and Lyrics. But that’s because I love cotton candy movies.
I didn’t say I didn’t like it. I just thought it could have easily been way better. Not much chemistry between Hugh & Drew.
