sighs of relief, shouts of joy

A few weeks ago I read that Dawn over at Avenging Sybil would be reading and reviewing Story of a Girl. I immediately became nervous. I’ve read Dawn’s blog for awhile and am more less in sympathy with her mission, but I just wasn’t sure how she’d receive my book. The thing is I never meant to write a book that’s about sex or a message about sex or consequences of sex or really anything about sex. Like most authors, I just wanted to tell one character’s story as authentically as I could. For me, Deanna’s story is mostly about her family relationships. Anyway, Dawn posted her response to the book today and I am very happy and also relieved.

Also, Little Willow named Story of a Girl one of her best books of January. Yay!

Did you hear that The Police are reuniting to play at the Grammy Awards? And they might tour?! Whoowee! I love me some Police!

It is snowing here. Pretty. Last night I could actually see the lights of the city instead of a thick wall of smog. My ears already feel better.

The Police reunining = Sting is running out of money. Actually, I’m very happy about this too. I’m just trying to figure out what they’re going to play at the grammys. Don’t Stand? Roxanne? Message in a Bottle? Every Little Thing? Too many to choose from. I say they play a big montage a la a Super Bowl half time show.

    Done.
