File Under: I love my job

Advice for my fellow writers: if you get invited to the Montgomery County Teen Book Festival, say yes.

Many thanks to the committee, donors, volunteers, festival attendees, writer comrades, and my assigned entourage—Lauren, Tolu, and Eric, below, all of whom I wish I could have with me always to help me manage daily life—for making it a memorable weekend. It is soooo great, the best, to be reminded how many people there are of all ages who still voluntarily invest their time, energy, talent, money, and LOVE in books. Power to the tribe!

    1) Your hair looks fantastic! (So do you)
    2) I got your letter on Friday and it made my day! After you’ve watched PR, let’s talk.

    xoxo

@Sheryl, Sheryl, super great to see you, too. I’m starting to feel very at home in TX!

Hi Ms. Zarr. This it Tolu. When I saw my face on your website, I almost fell out of my chair in shock. Thank you so much for your kind words and for your presence at the book festival. All my friends were jealous of me (Lit Club does have it perks) and I had a great time getting to know you.
Man, seeing myself online is so cool.

@Toluwani Soares, Tolu, I enjoyed getting to know you, too…I don’t know if you know how seriously awesome you are. Your brain is already big time. Best of luck with everything but I don’t think you’ll need it!
