The color of Lake Louise was explained to us, and I'm sure I'm going to get it wrong, but it's something like: the particular kind of sediment from the mountains around it absorbs (or relfects?) all colors but turquoise.

Thanks for the kind words re Story!

Amazing pics - Lake Louise is so turquoise and almost chalky looking. I've never seen the like.

And speaking of not being able to get a song out of one's head, I've been reading Story of a Girl poolside (kiddies in swim lessons) and then hearing "This is the story of a girl, who cried a river and drowned the whole world..." in my head for the rest of the day. I sing it aloud, which drives the kids nuts because A) I can't sing and B) I only know the first part of the song, so they hear it over and over.

I just want to say that the book is stunning - as in STUNNING! So beautifully crafted that I'm reading it as slowly as I can to prolong the enjoyment. ;)

Can't wait to read your other books!

Your photos are lovely! I spent a very short afternoon at Lake Louise and it took my breath away. Man, I really need a vacation soon.
